Former NFL and UGA player Tra Battle coming to Valdosta to raise awareness for mental health

United2Prevent presents We All Face Battles with guest speaker Tra Battle to raise awareness of mental health struggles and to let the community know help is available.

The speaking event will take place on Friday, March 10, 2023 at The Porch Community Church. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event begins at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. United2Prevent encourages parents and teens to attend as this population is most at risk for suicide. Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for ages 10-24.

Tra Battle is a former University of Georgia football player who went on to play professionally for the National Football League. Battle was part of the San Diego Chargers and the Dallas Cowboys during his professional career. He has been open about the mental health struggle he faced after leaving the NFL and the part that his former UGA coach Mark Richt played in getting him the help he needed.

United2Prevent will also sell t-shirts at the event for $20 and all funds go to suicide prevention efforts in the community.
